My budding artists...

Original artwork by Cousar and Barrett...I finally started an art wall for them in the playroom. They get this talent from their Daddy...

Cotton Bowl 2010 - Part V...

Thursday in Dallas was a lazy day for the boys. I worked a Foundation event. So we stayed around the hotel all day...

We started the day with coffee in the tub...
Then we headed back to the hospitality room where Barrett worked on his 3-point stance... and Cousar brushed up on his Wii skills...
Finally we ventured out into the lobby where we saw Dexter McCluster and other players signing autographs...You would have thought he was Santa Clause...Cousar would only stand about ten feet away and talk to him...
Then we located our second favorite spot at the hotel...the water garden...by the time we left Dallas I had no change left in my wallet...

Cotton Bowl 2010 - Part IV...

Wednesday night we took the boys to Mesquite for the Mesquite Championship Rodeo...
Right away the boys started waving at the big screen to try to get themselves on television.... Cousar insisted on wearing his "Jevan" stickers...
Barrett and Justin taking it all in...
The rodeo had everything you'd expect...a rodeo clown...
horses...
cowboys...
bulls...
and last but not least...children riding sheep...this part of the rodeo was the most entertaining, hands down...
that is until they called all children ages 7 - 12 to the arena floor for the cash grab...the object of the contest was to pull a ribbon off the tail of a calf...it's hard to see in the picture but notice the little boy in front of the Resistol sign...he never moved into the crowd and nearly won. I think he must have participated in a few of these...
two calfs and about 200 kids...not very good odds for the calfs...
finally after finishing off a slushy...
and cotton candy, we called it a night...

Cotton Bowl 2010 - Part III...

We arrived in Dallas around lunch time and headed straight to the hospitality room. Little did we know that we'd spend the majority of our trip in this room. It was every child (and a lot of grown up's) dream - arcade games, pool tables, video games, skeet ball, ping pong, big screen televisions, and all of the snacks you could imagine...

Cousar discovered the hunting arcade game and never moved... Barrett discovered the candy and snacks and never quit eating...
First on the menu - animal crackers...
then skittles...
then he thought about the crayons...
but opted for coloring instead...
finally pooped out we headed back up to the room to get ready for the rodeo...

Cotton Bowl 2010 - Part II...

We left for Dallas mid-morning on Tuesday, December 29. We decided before leaving Oxford that we would spend the night in Texarkanas and get up early the next morning to finish the trip. Somewhere along the way Cousar learned the phrase "are we there yet?"

We didn't pack any bath toys so we had to improvise...
While getting ready on the morning of Day 2 Cousar practiced for his cover on Forbes magazine...
and Barrett worked on the air conditioner...
Then I broke the news that we were not in Dallas yet...
and would be getting back in the car again...

Cotton Bowl 2010 - Part I...

We were blessed to travel as a family to Dallas to bring in the New Year with the Rebels at the Cotton Bowl. We were there almost a full week and I took tons of pictures. I'll be blogging about them as a series...Stay tuned!

What a difference a year makes...

These are my precious boys in their Christmas pajamas one year ago...
And here they are in their Christmas pajamas this year...and what a difference a year makes...
Barrett's hair is a little longer...
and his cheeks are a little more full...
All of Cousar's blonde hair is gone...
and his birth mark is a little more prominent...
One thing remains the same...they are still my sweet babies...
