Everything with 4 wheels...

Today was such a pretty day that we spent the majority of the morning and afternoon (other than our ritual Sunday afternoon nap) outside. I am so excited that Spring seems to have finally arrived!!
Barrett played in his exersaucer for much of the morning. He's walking great but still loses his balance! Taking a tumble on the carpet is one thing, but taking a tumble on the concrete is something entirely different!
He didn't seem to mind being confined to the exersaucer... Of course we had to drag out nearly every outdoor toy we own...Barrett & Cousar's play house (courtesy of Gina and Aunt Joyce) and "sandbox" were filled with plastic buckets, shovels, and trucks within minutes!!!
We even played a few hoops... Somehow we failed to wipe Cousar's face or brush his hair before we made it out the door...notice the scooter and four-wheeler out in the background. Not pictured are the Leap Frog train, tricycle, car, or wagon!!! He really did pull out everything with 4 wheels!!!

Come Join the Party

While reading my favorite blogs this past week, I kept coming across posts about the Little People 50th Birthday Party at Toys 'R Us. Somehow I convinced Tracie that we should take all 3 kids and go...what was there to lose? We would at least walk away with a free Little People DVD, right? So we loaded all three up and headed to Tupelo...

Cousar & Barrett
Barrett & Kate
When we arrived, the "party" was two tables with coloring sheets, and a boy and a girl Little People toy set out on a table (that was almost too high for Cousar and Kate to even reach)! Kate sat down to color right away, but Cousar wanted to stay in the buggy...
After watching Kate for a few minutes, he decided to come out and join the "party." Then he laid his eys on the Little People Spin 'n Crash Raceway. From that point on, he was hooked! He played with the toy for at least an hour!
Revin' up the engines...
The red car was his favorite...
Kate playing with the Little People Dance 'n Twirl Palace...
I was able to pry Cousar away from the toys to play with umbrellas (for about a minute). There, right in the middle of Toys 'R Us, I sang Singin' in the Rain...yes, that's right...I sang out loud in front of strangers. I was doing anything to pry Cousar away from the Raceway!!!
The girl in the background is Ashley. She was so sweet with Cousar and Kate! The store manager walked by and I quickly informed him that she needed a raise! Or that we might even hire her to watch the kids while we shopped! I really did think she was going to have to carry Cousar out of the store!!!
The umbrella only served as a distraction and before I knew it he was back at the Raceway! So I did the unthinkable...I gave in and bought one for him! In my defense, I did have a gift card! Still, I learned a valuable lesson...an opportunity to get a free dvd is not always as it seems!!!

Corn on the Cob

After his bath tonight, Barrett discovered Cousar's left over corn from dinner. At first he just played with it, and he seemed to have trouble holding it with the corn holders. (Is that what you call those things?) So I removed it, and he figured out quickly what to do next... I think he liked the way it felt on his gums!

"Is this a drum stick?" So much for the bath...

From daycare to the Square

After work today, the boys and I took our first stroll of the spring season. We walked from daycare to the Square and around several times. I had a pair of sunglasses for each of the boys, and, of course, Cousar ended up with both! When we loaded back into the car I turned around to find Cousar looking like this...

www.BellaViePhoto.com

I blogged earlier about having the boys pictures made at Treehouse Toys. Below are 3 of the pictures! Thank you, Diane, for allowing me to post these here! Both of the pictures you sent were my favorites! If you haven't seen the BellaVie web site, you should go look at it now! Diane takes wonderful pictures! Our session was so fast and easy! It was by far the easiest photo session I've ever done! (I wasn't exhausted after it was over!!!) And I can't wait until we are able to do more!!! (Also see the BellaVie blog link under Other Blogs...)

Barrett - He smiles with his eyes! Cousar - I could just squeeze those cheeks!
It will take a lot of self-control not to order this one of Barrett!!

All a Mess...

We finally painted the robot this afternoon! It was rainy outside and we needed a fun indoor activity...that turned into a MESSY indoor activity! Cousar was neat and tidy with the painting until he saw Barrett put his hand in the paint...it was all a mess from there on! Before all was said and done, Barrett's feet and hands were covered, and he somehow managed to sit in the paper plate with the paint. So he is now the proud owner of "painting pants!" (Doesn't every 11 month old need a pair?)

These boots are made for walkin...

March 14, 2009
Cousar walked into the bedroom this afternoon wearing these...(and for all of my decorating friends, I do realize that the bedspread does not match the bed skirt...Justin made up the bed this morning and used the closest blanket he could find!!! The normal bedspread was in the wash!!)

Argh, Matey

Cousar and I went to Jack & Caroline's (twins) 2nd birthday party on Sunday afternoon.
Playing basketball with Myla
Riding the plastic horse... These are the same ones we had when we were little, but now the springs are covered so tiny fingers don't get pinched anymore! Kim and I had one that Big Mama and Grandaddy gave us when we were little! Waiting his turn to play "feed the monkey"...The whole party was a monkey theme and was so cute! For one of the games, each child was given a piece of paper painted to look like a banana. Their names were written on the paper and when their name was called they got to tape their banana to the monkey's face (or "feed the monkey"). Cousar patiently waited his turn. He never whined, never tried to cut line, etc. I was so proud of him!
Feeding the monkey...notice that his tongue is sticking out. Justin does this when he's concentrating on something as well.
Playing in the tree house/swing set. He didn't leave this spot until it was time to go. He kept saying that he was playing pirate and saying "Argh, Matey" or at least his version of the phrase!
Doing the tongue thing again...Like father, like son...
Peering out of his "ship"...
