Library Story Time...

Sweets and Pops took the boys and Linley Kate (not pictured) to the Library for story time earlier this month. Cousar and Barrett each started out reading their own books...

Barrett, however, decided Cousar's was a lot more interesting. Maybe this was a scary part... He finally goes in for a closer look...

Rolling on Sardis Lake...

Last year Justin bought a fishing boat. We have not had a chance to take it out until this year. (To be honest, I had not idea that the entire family could fit in the boat comfortably. I thought it was just a man toy!) We took it out as a family for the first time on July 5th. The boys loved riding in the boat (and me, too)! We rode from the Clear Creek boat ramp to the dam and back. On the way back the boat started having problems so it took a lot longer to get back than we anticipated! Regardless, we had a great time and look forward to cooler temps so we can take it out again!

Swimming...

We joined the Swim Club this month...It has been so hot out and the boys were going stir crazy at home every Saturday! They love is so far! We go on Tuesday and Thursday nights after school and we try to go on Saturdays as well... Neither of the boys will stick their head in the water but Cousar finally did put on the arm floaties last Thursday! Next summer I think I'll put them both in swimming lessons...

10 Facts about Barrett...

1. Barrett is now two years and two months old.
2. His favorite food is chicken.
3. His favorite phrase is "I love chicken!" and his second favorite phrase is "That's yummy!"
4. As you might guess he is a great eater, especially when he sits in mommy's lap at the table. (That's the best seat in the house, right?)
5. His favorite song is "I Gotta Feeling" by the Blackeyed Peas, and he can sing it almost word for word. His other favorite song is "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." He can also sing the Star Spangled Banner almost word for word! He has quite a diverse taste in music...
6. His favorite sport is baseball...He has been my Regional and Super Regional buddy lately...I can't get Justin or Cousar to watch it with us!
7. He still takes a pacifier ("pa-pa") and I take full blame for it...He never wants it unless I'm around, and it's the first thing he asks me for every day when I pick them up at school!
8. Justin nicknamed him "Repeat" because he echos everything Cousar says!
9. He is very into cleanliness...he is almost obsessed with it...he loves to wash his hands and wants a napkin as soon as we sit down at the table!
10. He is the most affectionate child I have ever been around...he lays his head on your shoulder whenever you hold him and is quick to give his kisses away!

1. He is 3 years and 7 months old...
2. He, like his Daddy, loves Disney movies and can watch them over and over and over again! We have watched Pinocchio every night this week!
3. He loves sugar - like his Mommy...
4. He wears his heart on his sleeve...
5. Ask him who is girlfriend is and he will quickly answer "Lily Kate." She's been the answer to that question since he could talk...
6. He calls the National Anthem the "Heart Song" because you place your hand over your heart while singing it (which he can also do almost word for word). He also calls the American flag the "Heart flag."
7. He may be a politician one day...ask him who is favorite teacher is and he will name them all...ask him who he loves and he will list every member of the family...ask him his favorite sport and he will tell you "all of them."
8. When we say the blessing at dinner he insists that we recite "God is Great" and "God Our Father."
9. He LOVES dogs...unfortunately his baby brother is SCARED TO DEATH of them...
10. He is quite charming...whenever I wear a skirt he tells me I look like a cheerleader, and I, of course, agree...

Summer Days...

It's only the first week of June and already we've had a busy summer. Cousar spent an afternoon opening the pool (a job he took seriously)...

Both boys had their first Klondike bar of the season... They went to the farm and rode in the back of a pickup for the first time... Cousar played with Kate on the creek bank...

They've been to Big Mike and Sweetie's twice to swim...

And along the way they've both had their fair share of booboos...

We can't wait to see what the rest of summer brings!

Cleaning Fish...

Justin had two very able assistants to help out with cleaning fish this afternoon...

Their questions were endless...What part is that? Can I eat the eye? What are you going to do with that (referring to the remains)? Can I touch it? (The last one from Barrett who screams to the top of his lungs if a gnat passes by...)
