Bless you!

I love that my camera takes pictures so quickly! I was able to get shots of Barrett sneezing on Saturday. You can see it starting in the first picture and finishing in the second. On a side note, Cousar knows to say "Bless you" when someone sneezes and he almost always does so! It is so sweet to hear that little voice say, "Bless you, Mommy!"
Barrett Sneezing
March 7, 2009 Bless you, Barrett!

Maybe not so much...

After pictures on Saturday I took the boys over to Sweets and Pops so that Cousar and LuLu could play together! He had been asking to go see her all day long!

Pops & Barrett LuLu - Notice the goggles on her hat. Peyton was wearing his sunglasses that way...I wish I had taken a picture of him as well!
Barrett chewing on a block! He is cutting four teeth at once, and they are giving him fits! He puts almost everything he can lay his hands on in his mouth!
LuLu playing baseball! She looks adorable!
Cousar concluded that golf is much easier than baseball!! (And, no I don't normally dress my boys in all white to play outside. They had their pictures made in the all white!)
LuLu helping Cousar ride her bike (that has training wheels on it)!! At first he thought it was fun...
But then decided maybe not so much!

Cousar's Haircut March 7, 2009

Cousar had his 3rd official haircut on Saturday at Lamystique. The pictures say it all...

Notice how many things were at "Barrett level." The first item he went for were the hair brushes. Then he noticed the flat irons. "Look, Mommy! This will help my fly aways!"
Waiting our turn. I removed the hair brushes and somehow got both boys to lean into the cubby hole for the picture!
Cousar in his "Super" cape. Yes, he does have a sucker in his mouth and one in his hand. I came prepared with an abundance of bribery!
Barrett watching from the stroller with his first sucker. Even though he was only a spectator, he had to be bribed as well.
The after shot...Cousar did great! After it was over, he said "I did it!!" He even blew Ms. Cindy kisses when we left and remembered her name that night when I asked him who cut his hair!

The President

This picture is posted on the Time Magazine White House photo blog for Friday, February 27 with the following description: "President Obama's personal bag is carried off Air Force One by an aide at Andrews Air Force Base." If you look closely, you can see Ole Miss on the side of the bag. My guess is that it was a gift from the University during the Debate. I don't like his policies, but at least he is giving Ole Miss some good PR!

Welcome home!

Sweets & Cousar
March 5, 2009
Sweets and Pops are finally back from their winter hibernation in Destin! They came to see the boys last night! It was the first time for Sweets to see the boys since Christmas! Needless to say there was a lot of laughter while they were here! We are so glad y'all are back! Welcome home!

Just me and the boys

Cousar & Angela
March 5, 2009 (around 11 PM)
I have mentioned before that the bedtime routine with the boys can be very difficult if only one of us is home. Justin worked late last night (I can't complain - at least he has work)! So it was just me and the boys. Sweets and Pops came by for a visit. Then we had dinner, bath, and then the bedtime routine...I was able to convince Cousar after his bath to sit in my bed to watch cartoons and eat popcorn while I rocked Barrett and gave him a bottle (the rocking chair is in our room)! He was happy to oblige! (Popcorn is one of his favorite foods!) Once Barrett was tucked away in his bed, I climbed into the bed with Cousar and we apparently both fell asleep. Notice that I am literally hanging off of the bed and Cousar is right up next to me!!! He likes to be close to one of us when he's sleeping! (Plus we needed room for the popcorn and sippy cup!) I'm just glad we survived the night without any meltdowns! Oh...since Justin wasn't home, we didn't get to paint the robot! Maybe we'll get a chance to this weekend!

Weekend Plans

Cousar
March 6, 2009
We have a busy, busy day scheduled for tomorrow! (And Justin has to work so the day could get interesting!) First things first, COUSAR IS GETTING A HAIRCUT!!! It's at least two weeks over due! Then to the Masonic Lodge to get them finger printed, etc. for the Amber Alert System! If you live in Oxford take your children to do this! It's from 10 - 4 and free! Then lunch and nap and pictures at Treehouse Toys! I hope we survive!
And I think I'm going to try out this recipe over the weekend (minus the onions and peppers, of course)! I'll let you know how it is!

Blue Eyes

Special thanks to Sweets and Pops for Barrett's new shirt! It makes his blue eyes look even bluer (if that's possible)!!

Cousar's Robot

Cousar's Robot
March 4, 2009
Barrett's new carseat came in the mail on Tuesday, and we decided the box would make a fun fort/tunnel/house for the boys to play with for a couple of days. Cousar, however, decided that it is a robot. Both Justin and I had to get in the box to convince him it was safe. We are painting the robot tonight...I'll post the pictures tomorrow!
"How'd you get in there, Daddy? "My turn, Mommy!"

Cupcakes baked in ice cream cones...

I found these on the Southernplate blog...cupcakes in ice cream cones! I love it! I bet they are not nearly as messy as regular cupcakes to eat. I just wonder if the other children Cousar's age would eat them...Cousar has never had ice cream in a cone. Click the link below... Note to Sweets - I think we can get Justin to build us one of the cupcake holder thingamajigs in the picture!

The Aquarium - Phase I

Phase I of the new aquarium setup began last night after dinner. The first step was to wash the gravel and put it as well as the plastic plants in the aquarium. Step two was divide the aquarium in half so that Johnny and Colonel won't fight. Justin was very sweet (and patient) to include the boys in the entire process!

Cousar putting the plants in. Playing with the rocks...
Justin adding water to the aquarium...and Barrett moving in for a closer look!
Step 3 - Move the aquarium to the bedroom very carefully. Cousar is clearing Justin's path!
Step 4 - Add the rest of the water to the aquarium one gallon at a time!
Barrett decided to watch from afar while chewing on his spoon...

Sunday Outing

Justin woke up on Sunday a little stir crazy. So after the snow melted, we headed to Tupelo. Justin has wanted an aquarium for a long time and has grown tired of cleaning Johnnly and Colonel's fish bowls. So our first stop was PetSmart. Cousar has been to PetSmart two other times on trips to Destin, and he loves it! While we were there a dog training session was in process so he was able to see lots of dogs as well!

Look at the fish, Daddy! I think I see a frog in there!
After the aquarium purchase I was able to make a quick stop in Ross (where I found nothing) and the Dollar Tree (where I picked up some more green paper lanterns for Barrett's birthday party). Then we headed to Scruggs. Justin has also always wanted a tractor. So he goes to Scruggs to dream...Cousar has been here as well before and seemed to remember his way around!
Cousar leading us to the toy section! He looked so tiny in the store! Barrett playing with a John Deere alphabet toy!
Cousar looking over the tractors.
And then he discovers the John Deere Gator...I somehow have a feeling there may be one of these under the Christmas tree next year!
Barrett joining him in the cab! It had seatbelts!!
"Hold on tight, Barrett!" (One of Cousar's favorite phrases these days!)
I included this one of Barrett because you can see his teeth!!!
We finished the evening with dinner at Ryans (where kids under 3 eat free!!!) It has been a while since all four of us ventured out together, and it went well! There were no tantrums, dirty diapers, or tears! Hopefully we'll get brave enough to do it again soon!

Our Week

Over the last couple of weeks, I've become obsessed with organizing - our lives, our finances, our home, our dirty laundry, etc. The sign above is hanging on our refrigerator this week! It is my attempt to make our days (and nights) go a little more smoothly. It is a little hard to read, but each day has the dinner menu, the high and low temperature for the day (so I don't have to call time & temp every morning), and any events or appointments scheduled for the day! I think this will also be a good way for Justin to stay informed of everything going on as well! (I have been guilty of reminding him of a birthday party or bunko at the last minute!) My plan is to do a new one every Friday for the following week! Hopefully this will eliminate some of that meal planning stress!!
